Prepn. of a catalyst system comprises combining (a) a metal source; (b) a pyrrole-contg. cpd; and (c) a metal alkyl; in a mutual solvent without a preliminary reaction step between the metal source and the pyrrole-contg. cpd. in the presence of an electron donor solvent.
