<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve the information of an image on the basis of the image photographed by a user, and in particular, to immediately acquire a result of the retrieval at the place where one is by using a portable terminal. <P>SOLUTION: When the user finds an interesting object 300 at the place where one is, the user photographs the object 300 by using a mobile phone 3 with a digital camera, and retrieves and requests the image data from an information providing device 102 through the network 100. Here, the portable telephone 301 transmits a photographing time, a photographing position information, and the distance information to the object 300 in addition to the image data.
