PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cleaning a base body for electrophotographic sensitive body for obtaining an excellent picture which is free from a defective coated film by allowing air bubbles to uniformly contact with the surface and the inner surface of a base body and perfectly removing an aqueous cleaner and foreign matter remaining on the surface and the inner surface of the base body in a rising process of the aqueous cleaner by bubbling. SOLUTION: In the method for cleaning base body for electrophotographic sensitive body, the base body for electrophotographic sensitive body is cleaned by using the aqueous cleaner and pure water. Therein, in the rinsing process of the aqueous cleaner of immersing the base body for electrophotographic sensitive body in the pure water after degreasing and cleaning the base body for electrophotographic sensitive body by using the aqueous cleaner, the air bubbles supplied on the surface of the base body for electrophotographic sensitive body from an air nozzle for the rinsing in the pure water are uniform air bubbles of 10 mm or below.
