PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor using a polyarylate resin which is easily soluble with a solvent for a coating liquid, excellent in storage stability of the coating liquid, excellent in electric characteristics, particularly in responding property and excellent in mechanical strength. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic photoreceptor having at least a photosensitive layer on a conductive substrate is obtained by using a polyarylate resin having a specified structure as the binder resin. A coating liquid therefor has high solubility with a non-halogen solvent and high storage stability and forming a favorable coating surface. The photoreceptor has excellent electric characteristics, particularly a responding property and excellent mechanical strength. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
