<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method at a power failure for an information processor that has a very simple structure and is mounted with a battery operable at a power failure at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes a power supply means which uses an AC power supply or a battery as a power source, a charge means which charges the battery from the AC power supply, and a power failure detection means which detects whether or not the AC power supply is in a power failure state. Based on a detection result of the power failure detection means, specified shutdown processing is performed.
