PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce variations in the surface temperature of a heat roller in its axial direction, in a fixing device having a means for induction-heating the heat roller. SOLUTION: The fixing device has: the heat roller having an electromagnetic induction heat generating part in order to melt toner on recording paper under heat, a coil provided inside the heat roller in order to apply an alternating magnetic flux to the electromagnetic induction heat generating part, and a reciprocal moving means for making the coil move reciprocally in the axial direction of the heat roller.
