PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic emulsion and a silver halide photosensitive material which suppress lowering of sensitivity and deterioration of image quality due to natural radiation. SOLUTION: In the silver halide emulsion, 70-100% of the grain projected area is occupied by tabular grains having (1) AR of 12-500 and (a) 30≤FD30AR≤300 or (b) D of 2.0-50μm and 9≤FD30D≤200, (2) AR of 15-500 and (a) 50≤FD10AR≤300 or (b) D of 2.5-50μm and 15≤FD10D≤200, or (3) AR of 12-500, D of 2.0-50μm,≥30 dislocation lines in the fringe part and dislocation lines in the principal plane, wherein AR; aspect ratio, FD30, FD10; the proportion (%) of grains having≥30 or≥10 dislocation lines in the fringe, D; average grain diameter, FD30AR, FD10AR; the product of FD30 or FD10 and Log<SB>10</SB>(AR), FD30D, FD10D; the product of FD30 or FD10 and Log<SB>10</SB>(D).
