PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical isolator having good optical characteristics by improving the moisture resistance, light resistance and heat resistance of an optical isolator element and suppressing the development of a crack to the optical element. SOLUTION: The optical isolator element includes one or more flat planar Faraday rotators, two or more flat planar polarizer arranged at both end faces of the optical axes of the Faraday rotators and adhesive layers for connecting the Faraday rotators and the polarizers to each other, in which a silicone resin essentially consisting of trifunctional organic siloxane is used for the adhesive layers. The use of the silicone resin essentially consisting of the trifunctional organic siloxane for connection to the optical elements, such as optical fibers, as well improves the moisture resistance, heat resistance and light resistance of bonded parts.
