PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive dummy body for an automatic vending machine. SOLUTION: This dummy body 2 for an automatic vending machine to be mounted on an opening 10 for light transmission formed on a back plate 9 of a stage 3 for merchandise display so that the opening 10 can be closed is configured of a label holder 12 mounted on the opening 10 for light transmission so as to be attachable/detachable and a merchandise display label 13 printed to express merchandise to be sold on a flat sheet made of synthetic resin. The label holder 12 is configured by forming engagement members 17 and 18 restrained and held by the upper and lower plate parts of the opening 10 formed on the back plate 9 at the back part of a shielding member 14 for preventing the leakage of a light from the opening 10 for light transmission, and forming a label holding means 15 for semi-cylindrically holding the merchandise display label 13 in an attachable/detachable configuration at the shielding member 14.
