PURPOSE: An apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to achieve improved cold start ability of the vehicle using LPG as a fuel by preventing an excessive drop of the fuel pressure. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a bypass line(4) branched off from a fuel line(3) formed in a fuel tank(1); a pressure control valve(9) mounted on the exit of the bypass line, and which is shut off in accordance with the control of an ECU(11) so as to control the pressure in the fuel line by permitting the LPG to be discharged to the fuel tank from the fuel line; a pressure sensor(10) for sensing the pressure in the fuel line; and the ECU for maintaining the pressure in the fuel line constant by opening/shutting the pressure control valve in accordance with the pressure sensed by the pressure sensor when an engine is turned off.
