A press for removing water from wet strip formed material, esp. paper web, has two press rollers (14, 16) forming a gap (12) where the first roller (14) is fixed at least at one end in the axial direction, a first pedestal (19) to mount the first journal bearings (53) of the first roller, a second pedestal (21a) to mount second bearings (55) and a stationary yolk (15) for the second roller. It also has, for the bracing of the second pedestal against the first, tensioning agents (26) which allow a relative displacement of the rollers axially and, on the second roller, a casing (58) which can rotate by means of the roller bearings (25a) in the second pedestal. Here, means (27a) are supplied to absorb tilting moments exerted on the second pedestal. Also claimed is a press where the second roller is a solid piece and the journal is mounted directly on roller bearings. |
