PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the compatibility between a new system and an old system in a cartridge recording medium and to improve the level of convenience for a user. SOLUTION: The recording medium of the new system 100 has a central hole 112 formed in a recording disk 110 and a center hole 121 formed on a center hub 120, and accepts both of a drive unit of the old system having a centering member fit in the central hole 121, and a drive unit of the new system 300 having a second centering member 313 fit in the center hole 121. A recording medium of the old system incorporates a recording disk having a central hole in a cartridge having the center hub, and structured to fit in a first centering member 312 of the drive unit of the new system 300 and the centering member of the drive unit of the old system to the central hole.
