PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process a data error area caused by control delay in a control circuit. SOLUTION: A digital data reproducing apparatus is provided with a storage means 4 to store digital data, a phase control circuit 11 to control a phase of digital data, and an offtrack detection means 5 to detect an offtrack of a read head 2 from a recording track on a recording medium. The apparatus controls storing operation to the storage means 4 based on an offtrack signal detected by the offtrack detection means 5 and a phase flag signal indicating a phase synchronous state of the phase control circuit 11, and processes the data error area caused by the control delay of the control circuit.
