PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data recording/reproducing technique that enables a terminal device recording video data and the like to record the recording time as well, requires no connection of the terminal device to a network at the recording, and can accurately tune the time between the terminal device and a server device for storing data, without lowering convenience. SOLUTION: A data recording/reproducing system for recording input contents data acquires the current time from a clock 18 at an input of contents data, records the time as record data in a hard disk device 13 while making it correspond to the input contents data, transfers the contents data to a video server as a storage destination via a network interface 17, acquires the current time from the video server at the transfer, computers a time difference between the two acquired current times, and corrects the time in the record data in dependence on the computed time difference.
