In hydraulic systems, positive displacement motors and pumps generate a flow or a pulsed torque, thereby producing vibrations having negative effects, said problem becoming critical at a low rotational speed and a high torque. The invention relates to a radial piston pump comprising a fixed block which is characterised in that the pistons are actuated by means of a cam (3) having a special section such that, by properly positioning the pistons (7, 8), the non-pulsed flow generated is uniform at every operating speed. The aforementioned piston actuation operation can involve a series of differently-displaced concentric cams (15, 16, 17) having a special section which are disposed on a cam support (18), thereby forming a pump which has a uniform flow and a variable capacity throughout the entire operating range thereof. Moreover, in order to eliminate the problem of radial piston pumps which are not self priming and/or which cannot be transformed into a motor, the invention comprises a rotary annular distributor (31, 32) which has been designed such as to allow self-priming and to enable the pump to be used as a motor without the need for said pump to be modified in any way.
