A laser transponder (1) for disabling a laser-based speed monitor (7), which is transmitting a monitor laser beam at a moving vehicle by transmitting a jamming laser beam to the laser-based speed monitor. The monitor laser beam is in the shape of a monitor signal (8; s1; sm) comprising monitor pulse trains (65) emitted with a first frequency f1, while the jamming laser beam is in t he shape of a jamming signal (11; s2; sj) comprising jamming pulse trains (67) emitted with a second frequency f3.
