Method for managing data in drawing exchange format (DXF), or similar, has the following steps: generation of a calibration file of DXF data containing data packets (d1 - d10) for at least one project (P1, P2, P3), storage of the calibration file, forming and storage of difference information if an alteration to a data packet occurs and or additional data packets are assigned to the calibration file. The invention also relates to a corresponding computer program and computer program element.
