The lintel block (10) has on the underneath inside a base part (11) several apertures (12a,12b) arranged side by side and underneath each other in the longitudinal direction of the lintel in the form of oblong zones (16,17) and outside of the base part on the long outer edges has elongated grooves (18, 19). When installed in a suitable wall opening the lintel is placed horizontally on the brickwork either side with the lintel height determined by the lower ideal break grooves so that the lintel height can then be corrected both down and up. Independent claim describes method for manufacturing lintel by a pressing process whose finished length can be any in order to span any type of wall opening.
