The invention relates to a machine tool (1) comprising means for conveying a n object to be machined and at least one machining means for machining the object. According to the invention the means for conveying the object to be machined comprises at least one machining conveyor (2), with which the objec t (3) to be machined is conveyed to the machining means (4), which machining conveyor comprises at least one recess arranged to act as the machining position, and at least one transfer conveyor (5), with which the object (3) to be machined is conveyed to the machining conveyor (2). The position of the recess in the machining conveyor (2) with respect to the object (3) to be machined is arranged to be controlled by controlling the conveying speed of the machining conveyor (2) and/or the transfer conveyor (5). Further objects of the invention are a method for controlling the machine tool, and a comput er software product.
