<p>The invention relates to a motion and locking mechanism for extendible device parts, with a drive (2) and a movable basic carrier (10). A sliding transmission element (4, 4') coupled to the drive (2) is arranged on the basic carrier and has a first translatory position and a second translatory position, such that the transmission element (4, 4') is designed in the second translatory position for fixing a locking element (3, 3'). On the basic carrier (10), furthermore, one of the locking elements (3, 3') is arranged, which is designed in a first adjustment position for preventing the movement of the transmission element (4, 4') from its first translatory position and in a second adjustment position for locking the basic carrier (10), while a first abutment (5, 5') is present which is designed for stopping the movement of the basic carrier by hitting against a second, fixed abutment (6, 6').
