<p>A method for preparing a porous composite material, which comprises the steps of freezing a composite comprising one or more calcium salts selected from among calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate and hydroxyapatite, and a collagen at least a part of which has been gelatinized, and then subjecting the frozen composite to a lyophilization. A porous composite material prepared by the method has a large pore diameter and a high porosity, as well as appropriate mechanical strength characteristics and biodegradability, and thus can be suitably used as an implant such as a filler for a bone, a carrier for use in the sustained release of a drug, and the like.</p> |
