[Also in Division F2] A filling valve for pressurized fluid containers comprises a resilient hollow body 16 containing a valve member 28 held in engagement with a seat 29 until lifted by a filling probe 32, a port 24 also being opened to provide communication with the interior of the container. The port 24 may be a self-sealing slit which opens when the body 16 is distended by admission of fluid from the probe or it may be a normally-open part controlled by movement of the valve member. The latter may be of nylon p.t.f.e. or brass and is so dimensioned that it is urged towards the seat 29 by the body 16 which may be of nitrile rubber.</p> |
