Contact floor for directing rising vapour - perp to flowing fluid, for fractionating columns

Floor holds a fluid which flows in a given direction over the whole floor. A fluid forwarding plate has many holes distributed over its whole surfaces; their parallel main axes are directed in the flow direction. Many flow deflectors, each directly over a corresponding hole, are fast to the plate at the upstream and downstream ends of the holes. The deflectors delimit lateral openings oriented so that the vapour takes up a direction perp. to the flow direction of the fluid forwarded by the plates.
