<p>A parking system and method is disclosed which includes a control station (10) provided at a car park for providing entry and exit and billing in relation to time parked at the car park. The control station (10) receives a park signal from a user mobile telephone (12) indicative of the desire to park at the park station, and receives an exit signal from the user when parking is to be terminated so as to produce an exit code. A controllable access means (16) receives the park entry signal to activate the controllable access means (16) to allow entry into the car park. The controllable access means (16) may be in the form of a boom gate (18). A transmitter (19) is provided for transmitting the exit code to the user mobile phone (12). A controllable exit means (21) is located at the parking station to receive the exit code when the user wishes to exit the car park, and processing means (14) is provided for processing information indicative of a charge for time parked at the parking station.</p> |
