Device for regulating an electrical voltage supply to an electrical unit comprises: a voltage supply line; a switching arrangement; a socket device for a plug connected to the voltage supply line; a locking device for locking the plug in the socket; a control device for controlling the switching arrangement; and a chip card read-write unit for use with the control unit to control power supply to the electrical unit. An Independent claim is made for a method for controlling access to an electrical unit.
