PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for manufacturing aluminum foam are provided to repair and wash the foaming furnace easily by enabling vertical and horizontal movements of foaming furnace from chamber and to decrease ratio of product defects according to frequent movement of the mold by horizontally moving mold of the lower side. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a chamber(1) to a certain position of side wall(11) and lower wall(12) of which heating means(13,15) are adhered, at both side walls(11) of which a plural doors(17) are installed so that the lower mold(3) moves through the plural doors(17), and at a certain position of the lower wall(12) of which resting groove(16) is installed so that moving member(31) of the lower mold(3) is stably fixed to the resting groove(16); a foaming furnace(2) whose an extended wing part is positioned on upper wall(14) of the chamber(1), and both end parts of which are opened to foam viscosity increased molten aluminum injected through an opening part of the foaming furnace(2); a lower mold(3) whose a moving member(31) is fixed to the resting groove(16) on the lower wall(12) of the chamber(1), in which a part of the foaming furnace(2) is housed so that a foaming space is formed by side wall(21) of the foaming furnace(2), and which receives molten aluminum foam during ascending of the foaming furnace(2); an agitation means comprising driving motor(41) and agitator(4) installed at the lower side of the inner part of the foaming furnace(2) to agitate molten aluminum injected; a sealing member(43) for integrally sealing the foaming furnace(2) by closing the opening part of the foaming furnace(2) for injecting molten aluminum whose viscosity is increased in a separate viscosity increasing furnace and binding the agitation means and foaming furnace(2) using a binding means; a lowerable and liftable means(42) for ascending the sealing member(43) to inject the viscosity increased molten aluminum; and a lowerable and liftable means comprising a vertical fixing rod(51) perpendicularly connected to the driving motor(41) to lower and lift the agitation means and foaming furnace(2) bound by the sealing member(43), a lowerable and liftable member(52) for moving the agitation means and foaming furnace(2) to a preset height by ascent and descent control part(54), and a vertical supporting rod(53) for rotationally supporting the lowerable and liftable member(52).
