Method and device for producing a composite tube

Tube construction comprises a plastic inner tube(2) and an outer plastic tube(6) or coating with a metal tube(3) between joined to both inner and outer tubes. The pipe is manufacture by joining two or more prefabricated tube sections. An inner tube(2) and a metal tube(3) are pushed together and following insertion the metal tube is rolled to reduce the diameter and pressed onto the inner pipe to produce a positive connection between them. One or both plastic tube surfaces to be joined to the metal tube are coated in a coupling agent which is activated by a heater(8). Independent claims are included for: a) a plant for the process with a rolling reforming tool(4) for joining two or more prefabricated pipe sections; b) a composite pipe with an external diameter(D) of at least60mm.
