PURPOSE: Provided is a cosmetic composition containing, as a principal active ingredient, an extract of Zostera Marina L. which is excellent in antioxidation, collagen synthesis, skin wrinkle improvement, skin whitening and skin stimulation alleviation. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition is characterized by containing, as a principal active ingredient, an extract of Zostera Marina L., in the amount of 0.001-30.0 wt.%, based on the freeze-dried weight, wherein an extracting solvent is selected from the group consisting of purified water, methanol, ethanol, glycerine, ethylacetate, butyleneglycol, propylene glycol, dichloromethane and hexane.
