<p>The present invention concerns the use of i) finely divided knotwood; or ii) an extract, obtained by extracting knotwood with a polar solvent and recovering the extract, as an antioxidative agent. Furthermore, the invention also relates to the use of a fraction of said extract as an antioxidative agent.</p>
