A packaged food product comprising a sealed pack of liquid-absorbent food pellets in which the interior of the pack is at reduced pressure. On opening the pack under liquid, the release of the reduced pressure causes the food pellets to draw up liquid. The food may be for domestic pets or for humans. The pack may take the form of a bowl or other receptacle defining a lower chamber for the food pellets and an upper chamber for water, the chambers being separated by a rupturable sealing membrane. Such receptacles may be designed for stacking one into another. |
