A rack includes a rectangular, open ended, box-like unit made from four L-shaped corners components 9 each having two, mutually perpendicular, planar arms 1, the free ends of the arms 1 of each of the four components being joined by connectors, either directly or indirectly, to free ends of the arms of two others of the four components 9 whereby the box-like unit is bounded wholly or to a major extent by the corner components 9. The free ends of the arms 1 are formed with circular openings 4 communicating with the free edges of the ends by means of slots 3. The free ends may be inter-connected by a threaded pin 11 located in aligned slots 3 and threaded at its ends into circular discs 14 located in the openings 4 and bearing on washers 15. Alternatively, the free ends may be interconnected by planar members 6, 7 also formed with slots 3 and openings 4 with receive the pin 11 and discs 14. Further pins 16 are located in bores in the abutting edges of the components. The components also include bores 5 to receive screws by which units may be inter-connected. A rack assembly may include U-shaped components 10. |
