<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arteriostenosis inspection instrument which accurately discriminates the presence/absence of stenosis at the lower limbs. <P>SOLUTION: In the process of gradually lowering the pressure of a cuff 20 for an ankle, a finger tip pulse wave is successively detected by a photoelectric pulse wave sensor 56 mounted to the finger tip, and an increase point G where the finger tip pulse wave detected successively is increased remarkably is detected by an increase point detection means 76. When there is stenosis at a tibial artery of one side, the detection means 76 detects two increase points G, an ankle blood pressure value determining means 78 determines an ankle cuff pressure PCA when a second increase point 2G is detected to be the highest blood pressure value (second highest blood pressure value) of a tibial artery on a side where the stenosis is present. Then a lower limb and upper limb blood pressure exponent calculation means 84 calculates ankle and upper arm blood pressure exponent by using the second highest blood pressure value. When an ankle blood pressure exponent is calculated like this, the ankle and upper arm blood pressure exponent is worsen even when the stenosis is made only at the tibial artery of one side.
