<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head protection airbag and a system thereof, capable of fully absorbing a shock applied to an occupant's head. <P>SOLUTION: If a vehicle has a side impact or overturn, a gas generator is actuated, and gas is supplied into cushion rooms 21, 22 and 23 respectively to inflate an airbag 10. The airbag 10 is extended downward in a curtain shape and inflated between an occupant in the vehicle and the vehicle compartment side. When the inflated cushion rooms 22 and 23 hold the occupant head, the internal pressure of the cushion rooms 22 and 23 increases in excess of a prescribed pressure, bonding between the seats 11 is released by adhesive agent 28, and the cushion room 22 and the chamber 24, and the cushion room 23 and the chamber 25 are respectively passed through each other, so that gas in the cushion rooms 22 and 23 is flowed into the chambers 24 and 25. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
