PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain safe and effective singlet oxygen eliminant, melanine formation inhibitor, tyrosinase biosynthesis inhibitor and intracellular glutathione formation promoter and provide a skin care preparation effective for bleaching and antiaging by adding them. SOLUTION: The skin care preparation having mild bleaching and antiaging actions is prepared by blending a 2-chromanone derivative having a specific structure to a skin care agent. The 2-chromanone derivative is found to have excellent singlet oxygen-eliminating effect, melanine formation-suppressing effect, thylosinase biosynthesis-suppressing effect and intracellular glutathione formation-promoting effect by investigating compounds originated from natural sources and compounds having structures similar to those.
