PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that there remains a need for an effective biocompatible composition which is capable of being magnetically transported and is relatively easy to manufacture, store, and use. SOLUTION: A magnetically responsive composition containing iron-ceramic particles and used for delivering a substance for in vivo medical diagnosis and/or treatment is provided. The particles are formed by the simultaneous transformation of iron and ceramic powders. A diagnostic or therapeutic substance can be adsorbed thereon. The particles can be manufactured by mechanically milling a mixture of iron and ceramic powders. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
