摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technology capable of producing porous silica having high heat thermal and hydrothermal stabilities whose structure such a pore size changes only a little by heat treatment, in order to accurately control the pore size of porous silica. SOLUTION: The porous silica is produced by preparing a reaction solution containing a surface active substance, a silica source, a sol-gel reaction catalyst, water, and as necessary, an organic solvent under conditions that a hydrophobic ion other than a halogen ion (for example, a tetrafluoroborate ion) is present, subjecting the reaction solution to a sol-gel reaction, filtering the resultant solid, and drying it to obtain a powder.
