LOUVER MECHANISM OF SEWING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a louver mechanism of a sewing machine which sharply reduces the scattering of a lubricant from a bush on the occasion of forward- backward movement of a louver shaft. SOLUTION: The louver mechanism has the louver shaft which is supported by the bush fixed to a machine frame of the sewing machine and has a louver at the fore end, and a swing lever which is connected to the main shaft and moves the louver shaft forward and backward in the direction intersecting the feeding direction of cloth. The end part of the bore of the sliding surface of the bush that is positioned on the louver side is partially expanded and an oil draining orifice is provided in the expanded portion, while a lubricant absorbing member is so inserted as to come into contact with one end of the oil draining orifice and with the louver shaft.
