PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an azole compound having the production and secretion- promoting activity of a neurotrophic factor and useful for the prevention and treatment of diabetic neuropathy. SOLUTION: This azole compound is expressed by formula (1) [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is H, a halogen atom, a heterocyclic group which is allowed to be substituted, a thiol group which is allowed to be substituted or an amino group which is allowed to be substituted; A is a cyclic amino group which is allowed to be substituted or -NR<SP>2</SP>-W-D (wherein, R<SP>2</SP>is H or an alkyl; W is a bond or a di-valent acyclic hydrocarbon group: and D is a cyclic group which is allowed to be substituted or an acyl group which is allowed to be substituted); B is a hydrocarbon group which is allowed to be substituted or a heterocyclic group which is allowed to be substituted; X is oxygen, sulfur or nitrogen which is allowed to be substituted; and Y is a bond or a di-valent acyclic hydrocarbon group] or is its salt.
