PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording method in which a 'clear' color image can be attained without employing a multi-pulse system regardless of local variation in the shooting position of recording ink. SOLUTION: In the color ink jet recording method for recording a color image using a print head ejecting a plurality of colors of ink drops from a plurality of ink ejection openings, dots are formed by shooting a plurality of colors of ink drops at positions within one half pixel from the center of the pixel wherein the order of respective colors or the distance between the centers of dots is indefinite within one pixel.
