PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce costs by decreasing the number of transmission driving circuits for generating transmission pulses in an ultrasonic diagnostic device. SOLUTION: High pressure resistant switches 3-1 to 3-32 for determining an opening by selecting 8 vibrators out of vibrators 2-1 to 2-32 to be impressed with the transmission pulses are provided separately from low pressure resistant switches 11-1 to 11-16 for selecting 16 vibrators out of the vibrators 2-1 to 2-32 to receive ultrasonic echoes. In the high pressure resistant switches 3 for transmission, four inputs are collected into one to comprise a 1:4 distribution circuit. In the low pressure resistant switches 11 for reception, two outputs are collected into one to comprise a 2:1 multiplexer. Linear scanning is performed only by eight pulsers (transmission driving circuits) 4-1 to 4-8. Since the high pressure resistant switches 3 for ultrasonic transmission and the low pressure resistant switches 11 for reception are separated, the number of the pulsers (transmission driving circuits) 4 is decreased and circuit costs are reduced while maintaining performance.
