PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering strictinin, by which the strictinin can efficiently be recovered from a strictinin-containing plant in an extent capable of being industrially utilized, and to provide a method for storing a strictinin-containing material, by which the strictinin-containing material can be stored not to lower the concentration of the strictinin. SOLUTION: A plant containing the strictinin is extracted with acidic hot water having a pH value of about 2.0 to 5.5 and a temperature of about 45 to 100°C or with an acidic organic solvent or acidic water-containing organic solvent having a pH value of about 2.0 to 5.5. Thereby, the extraction rate of the strictinin can more efficiently be enhanced than when neutral hot water or the like is used. The obtained strictinin-containing material is stored at a pH value less than about 4.5. Thereby, the ageing decomposition of the strictinin can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
