PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chitosan-containing seed treatment agent which, in drying seeds treated therewith, dose not require the seeds to be placed separately from each other and which, even when the seeds are dried in the state of contact with each other in a limited drying area, dose not allow the agglomeration of the seeds to occur or, when the agglomeration occurs, enables the agglomerate to be dispersed by a weak force without peeling the surface coated with the agent and without damaging the seeds. SOLUTION: The seed treatment agent comprises an aqueous medium, water- insoluble particles with an average diameter of 1-1,000μm and a water-soluble binder comprising an organic acid salt of chitosan.
