PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the position of an overlapped section without damaging the edge of a packing material. SOLUTION: In a packing material formation means which forms a packing material tube 41 by curving a web-like packing material 11 and in the upstream side from the packing material tube formation means in the carrier direction of the packing material, the centering device has a guide roller which is rotatably disposed and guides the material 11, a support section which movably supports one end of the guide roller and a fulcrum which rockably supports another of the guide roller. If the one end of the guide roller is moved, the material 11 can be moved in a right-angled direction to the carrier direction thereof, and the overlapped section can be moved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
