PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct placement type packaging apparatus capable of controlling a direction, a position and the like of an item to be packaged placed on an elevator for the following packaging process. SOLUTION: The packaging apparatus packages the item to be packaged by placing the item (a) to be packaged on the elevator 2 and pushing it up from below toward a film stretched on the packaging portion b, covering the upper surface of the item to be packaged with the film 4' and folding the edge portion of the film to the bottom surface side of the item to be packaged wherein a guide means 16 is arranged in the side of the elevating path of the elevator 2 to contact the side of the item (a) to be packed placed on the elevator and adjust the position.
