PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle for preventing fogging of vehicle window glass by raising the temperature of blowout air from a DEF blowoff port even during a FOOT mode operation. SOLUTION: This air conditioner is provided with an evaporator, a heater core having a hot water inlet on a lower part and a hot water outlet on an upper part and passing air passed through the evaporator, a first air passage for connecting the evaporator and the heater core, a second air passage provided with a foot blowoff port to be opened and closed by a FOOT door rotating around a fulcrum on an outlet side of the heater core, and a third air passage connected with the second air passage via the FOOT door and communicating with a FACE blowoff port and the DEF blowoff port, within a casing of an indoor unit. The FOOT door is arranged so that the FOOT blowoff port may be opened at a position where one end is in contact with an upper part of the heater core and the one end may be away from the upper part of the heater core when the FOOT blowoff port is closed. The width of the FOOT door is reduced than that of the heater core. A hot air bypass passage is formed between an inner wall surface of a side surface of the casing and a side edge part of the FOOT door. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
