PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a readily treatable, practicable paper mulch sheet without requiring a high cost for production and transportation, having a smaller weight per unit area, keeping efficient flexibility, hardly reducing operation efficiency, having sufficient effects for regulating soil temperature or the like, using paper as a material, and hardly generating a harmful dioxin and a combustion gas affecting the ozonosphere when burned. SOLUTION: The paper mulch sheet having excellent waterproof and weatherproof properties is obtained by coating a coating liquid containing an alkoxysilane as a main component on the surface of a paper material to form a coating having a siloxane bond.
