<p>The invention relates to a monitoring system for an individual and to components thereof. The invention particularly relates to a data transmission device (100) for a monitoring system serving to monitor an individual, comprising at least one sensor (10) for recording at least one parameter of the monitored individual, a storage device (114) for storing the values of the at least one parameter that are recorded by the at least one sensor (10), and an evaluating device (113) for evaluating the values of the at least one parameter that are recorded by the at least one sensor (10). The aim of the invention is to provide a monitoring system for an individual, which can continuously measure parameters of the monitored individual that are recorded by sensors and which can evaluate, in almost real time and with the calculating capacity and the efficiency of a computing center, the compiled values of the parameters regardless of the whereabouts of the monitored individual. To this end, the data transmission device (100) comprises a data interface (101) via which it is connected to a telephone network, and the evaluating device (113) is configured for establishing a connection to a data center (200, 200', 200'') when the trend of the values of the at least one parameter that are recorded by the at least one sensor (10) indicates a likelihood that a specified first threshold value will be exceeded and/or when the values of the at least one parameter that are recorded by the at least one sensor (10) exceed a specified first threshold value.</p> |
