摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved hydraulic steering system for a marine craft having a stern drive device which effectively eliminates non-rotational movement of a hydraulic actuator at a time of tilting work of the stern drive device with a simple structure and a less number of parts to be used. <P>SOLUTION: A steering apparatus for the marine craft is provided with first brackets 36, 37 connectable to a stern of the marine craft. A second bracket 38 connectable to a propulsion unit of the craft is also provided. The second bracket 38 is connected to the first brackets 36, 37 to relatively rotate with the first brackets 36, 37 about an axis of rotation. The propulsion unit rotates about the axis of the rotation relatively with the stern of the craft. The second bracket 38 includes a cylindrical bore 44 extending inside. A piston 46 is reciprocatingly received in the piston 46. The piston 46 slidingly engages with the cylindrical bore 44, and is connected to a piston rod 48.
