PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treatment apparatus which can prevent the outflow of water in a garbage treatment tank from an air suction passage and a gas discharge passage even when the garbage treatment tank is filled with water. SOLUTION: The height arrangement part A1 of air suction piping A which is the air suction passage for supplying air into the garbage treatment tank 2 and the height arrangement part B1 of gas discharge piping B which is the gas discharge passage for discharging gas in the garbage treatment tank 2 are arranged at positions higher than an inlet 7, respectively. Even when the garbage treatment tank 2 is filled with water, and the water level reaches the inlet 7, the outflow of the water in the garbage treatment tank 2 from the air suction piping A and the gas discharge piping B is prevented.
