PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote to soothe the mind by utilizing the scent of lumber constituting a hard pillow. SOLUTION: The hard pillow 1 has a hog-backed shape (a semi-circular cross section) by cutting round lumber into halves, has a diameter of 100-200 mm and a length of 300-450 mm, and has the surface finished smoothly with sandpaper. Five holes 2, each having a diameter of 20-30 mm, are penetrated parallel to the flat bottom surface of the halved round lumber to increase the amount of released scent of the lumber. The holes 2 may be blind holes instead of being penetrated. The holes are formed not only in the direction parallel to the flat bottom surface but also radially on the circumferential surface of the lumber. Grooves 3 are formed in the lengthwise direction or in the circumferential direction on the round lumber. The width of the groove is 1-5 mm, and the depth is 5-10 mm.
